Such a time as this.

Esther 4:14 “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
The story of Esther. As I wrap up a study on the book of Esther, I can’t help but be in awe. If you haven’t had a chance to read about Esther, STOP, READ, AND RETURN. So many great takeaways. It’s the story of a Jewish-orphan girl raised by her uncle, Mordecai. Through favor, she became the wife of the king during that time. Through her obedience, she was able to save her people from being put to death (there is sooo much more to the story, which is why you have to read it for yourself,). Reflecting on the story, I begin to relate to her. Somedays I wonder, “why me?“, “why now?“, or “really, God?” We see things happening around us and we feel a pressure to step up, to help, or be a resolution. But maybe we are afraid or see it as a hurdle, something we want to shy away from.
I believe that sometimes this unease that we feel, is exactly what God is using to push us where he wants us to be. God has a plan, and he uses us (His people) to bring his plan to past. God uses willing vessels to be his hands and feet on this side of Heaven. And just like, Esther, God chooses people who are the least qualified. The only qualification is willingness, obedience, and faith. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, he just wants our heart. Esther had a really big task in front of her. Because of her position to the King, she was needed to speak up for the Jewish people. Esther feared because during those times, you could only go before the king if you were summoned. God will put us in places, where the cause is greater than ourselves. Our obedience in these positions is important because others are depending on it. The fate of the Jewish people depended on Esther’s obedience. There lives were on the line!
God was showing favor towards Esther. He wanted to use her as part of his redemption plan. God didn’t need Esther and as quoted in scripture, had she not spoke up for the people before the king, God’s plan STILL would have came to past. NO ONE can stop God’s plan, but you have the choice to be apart of it!! Such exciting news!!
Is there something that you have been called to do? Something waiting for your obedience? What is it that God has entrusted you with? How are you handling your God-given gifts? God gave each one of us purpose and it is our job to share the Good News. God is welcoming us to be a part of his Master plan, will you join him?
God promises us that he will be faithful! ✨
