Yes it Does Take All of That. be Bold

Whew!!! Yes it does take all of that! No one can tell you that you are doing “too much” when it comes to trying to get to where you want to be. As you mature in your walk with Christ, you will grow and evolve. THE CALLING WILL COST YOU. PERIODT POOH.  The gift of Jesus Christ is free, but the relationship costs. We all get convicted about different things at different times (hence, it’s God’s plan). When you are committed to the call and serious about pursing Christ, you literally will find your taste buds changing, including people, conversations, activities, and other types of entertainment.

Romans 12:2 reads “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” You will be transformed from the inside out. God will begin to develop your character and the overflow will show in your actions and attitude.

I don’t think I realized until here within the last 3 years how much you have to be aware of your surroundings because of the impact it can have on your thoughts and actions. We are naturally attracted to things that make us feel good, physically and emotionally. We know that everyday there is a battle between our flesh and our spirit. Whatever we feed, will grow and whatever we starve will die. So whatever area of your life that you tend to the most, is what will manifest in your life. With that being said, as a follower of Jesus Christ, we have the choice to die to our flesh daily.

Luke 9:23 says “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” DAILY. It is a choice that we must make daily.

So set up boundaries. Don’t go to that place. Don’t talk to that person. Ignore that text message. Don’t watch that show. Don’t listen to that song. Be committed to your walk with Christ. Put him first and watch everything else begin to shift. Don’t be afraid of what others may think. It’s easy to get consumed in the opinions of others but God’s opinion is all that matters. Others may say, “that’s not necessary” or “you’re doing too much”, but when I think about to what extreme Jesus went to save me, nothing I could ever do could even come close to showing God just how much I am committed to this relationship. Everyone is at different places on their journey, and our longing for relationship with Christ can be a different from others around us and that is okay. But just a small reminder, “Don’t hold back!’ Don’t shrink to make others around you feel comfortable. Besides, the passion you have may be just what others around you need!
